DJ’s Clam Shack.

Dinner at DJ’s Clam Shack: May 23, 2014

The Lobster Roll

DJ’s Clam Shack located on the famous Duval Street.   (629 Duval St, Key West, FL 33040) It was this little shack amoungst the other buildings located on Duval.  We arrived in Key West a little before sun down and we were starving.  I found this little spot on yelp because all I wanted to eat for some reason was sandwiches.  And by golly that was the best decision ever.

SETTING

Top Photos is of the restaurant/shack. There was seating behind the picket fence and more located behind the shack. There were a couple of picnic tables and barrels you can eat on.

We ordered 2 Lobster Rolls and a cone of Conch Fritters.

The Lobster rolls were slightly dressed in Mayo with their herbs and was quit good.  You can taste the lobster in each bite.  I was impressed by the roll it self it reminded me of Texas toast but extra buttery and soft but yet it was toasted.  It was well worth the $15.  It came with a side of cole slaw which were untouched.  If I had an option I would have substituted for fries instead.

The Conch Fritters were famous all over Key West! Signs everywhere.  This is their version. They were really greasy and served over fries inside the paper cone.  By the time we realized there were fries the grease soaked through them and well became soggy.  The Conch Fritters were so so.  more of the batter than anything, we just had to try them.

cONCH FRITTER

The Famous Conch Fritter roughly ~$13? I can’t remember exactly.

lOBSTA

Lobster Roll $15 served with cole slaw.

Go for the Lobster Roll, maybe Two.

    • Hello, I’m sorry for the late reply. I used one of the themes that were free on the wordpress templates. I just customized it to fit my preference. It was all done on my own- trial and error. Hope this helps.
