Alexandria, Egypt: November 28, 2008
Alexandria is a coastal town three hours from Cairo.
We were driven by our awesome driver we booked with out Hotel – HUSA Hotels.
This was our G ride. (do we still say that)?

I hopped up onto the ledge at the Main tower. Looks deceiving low. but it was about a 4′-0″ high ledge.

A nice day behind me

Once again Lured by the trinkets… Fort Qaitbey Behind us
After touring Fort Qaitbey, we were starving. Being in Alexandria we were brought to this amazing seafood restaurant by the shores.

FOOD! Finally!

So grateful we met him, he was so awesome and took us to the best places. also warned us to avoid tourist traps and showed us where the real Egyptian deals were.

Hookah! He loved the fact we liked hookah he took us to a hookah bar and treated us to it!

Loving it – Hookah by the shore
We then later swung by the Alexandria library renovated by Snöhetta. It was awesome but apparently cameras aren’t allowed. This library had the largest collection of translated books in multiple languages.
Woah woah woah… As we drove back to Cairo i noticed the huge statues of animals. I realize we are in Africa. I forgot. That were were in deed in Africa. Northern Africa is so different from the Safaris and wild life people know Africa for. Egypt was all about the Antiquities and the relics of Egyptian pass.
Our drive noticed our excitement and pulled over so we can take some random photos with these giant animals!

I Love Elephants!
